Criminal intake guide
Florida DUI intake information
A DUI arrest or citation in Florida usually comes with paperwork, a date to keep track of, and a lot of uncertainty. This guide covers only the intake side: what information helps a request be reviewed, and what we do and do not do.
Not legal advice. AnswerSignalApp is not a law firm. This page explains what information is useful for an intake request. It does not describe legal rights, deadlines, penalties, or outcomes.
Keep the intake request short and factual
An intake request is not a statement, a confession, a plea, or a legal document. It is a brief administrative description so the request can be reviewed for possible connection to a participating Florida attorney. For a criminal matter, less detail is better: describe the situation in general terms and save the specifics for a private conversation with a lawyer you choose to speak with.
What tends to help
- Florida county or city. Criminal matters are handled locally, and participating lawyers cover different areas, so this is the single most useful field.
- Approximate date of the arrest, citation, or stop.
- General matter type. "DUI" is enough. You do not need to state a statute, a degree, or a charge classification.
- Custody status. Whether you were released, whether you are currently in custody, or whether someone is submitting on behalf of a person in custody.
- Whether you have paperwork. Many people leave with a document that lists a date or a location. It is enough to say you have paperwork with a date on it — do not upload it.
- Whether you already have a lawyer for this matter, including an appointed lawyer.
- Contact preference. Phone or email, plus times that are realistic and safe for you.
Why general timing context is useful
If a date is coming up soon, or if someone is currently in custody, we note that context so requests are handled in a sensible order internally. That is an operational note, nothing more. We do not calculate legal deadlines, tell you what any date means, or advise you on timing. If you have paperwork with a date on it, keep it somewhere safe and raise it with a lawyer.
What AnswerSignalApp does
We review non-legal intake factors: completeness, Florida geography, general matter type, representation status, contactability, and general timing context. Then compliance and eligibility checks are applied. Where a participating lawyer lawfully permitted to practice law in Florida is eligible and available for that matter type and region, the request may be introduced to that lawyer, and the lawyer independently decides whether to contact you. Their location is disclosed when a connection is made. The complete factor list is on how intake works.
What AnswerSignalApp does not do
- We do not assess guilt or innocence, evaluate evidence, identify defenses, describe penalties, or predict outcomes.
- We do not provide legal advice, appear in court, contact prosecutors or law enforcement, or take any action on a matter.
- We do not post bond, arrange release, or contact a jail on anyone's behalf.
- We do not promise that a lawyer will contact you or take the matter, and no attorney-client relationship comes from submitting a request.
- We claim no Florida Bar endorsement, and we publish no results, testimonials, rankings, or awards.
Do not submit sensitive identifiers or detailed admissions
Leave out Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, booking or case numbers if you would rather not share them, insurance or financial account numbers, passwords, medical record numbers, and photos of identity documents or paperwork. Also avoid writing out a detailed account of what you did or did not do. An intake form is not a confidential legal consultation, and a short, general description is all we need to review a request.
If someone is in custody
A family member or friend can submit a request describing the situation, including the Florida county and the fact that the person is in custody, with their own contact details for follow-up. We cannot contact a facility, arrange a visit, post bond, or pass a message. What we can do is review the request for possible connection to a participating Florida attorney who may then decide whether to make contact.
If you already have a lawyer
Tell us in the request. We do not route a matter a consumer says is already represented — including when a lawyer has been appointed — and we will not contact your current lawyer for you. Questions about your representation belong with the lawyer handling your matter.
After you submit
You will see a confirmation that the request was received, then it goes through intake review and compliance and eligibility review. Some requests are not connected: an incomplete request, a county or matter type no participating lawyer currently covers, or a matter that is already represented. You are never obligated to speak with anyone who contacts you, and you can ask us to stop pursuing your request at any time.
Keep sensitive identifiers out of your request
Share only what is needed for an intake review. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, medical record numbers, insurance member IDs, financial account numbers, passwords, or images of identity documents. If a participating lawyer needs additional detail, they can request it directly through their own secure process.
Already represented by a lawyer?
If you tell us you already have a lawyer for this matter, we do not route the matter to another participating lawyer, and we will not contact your current lawyer for you. Any questions about your current representation belong with your current lawyer.
Internal editorial review: this page was reviewed internally by the AnswerSignalApp team for consumer-safety wording and intake clarity. Ready to submit a Florida defense intake request?
Requests are reviewed for possible connection to a participating Florida attorney. Not every request results in a connection, and nothing obligates you to hire anyone.
AnswerSignalApp is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Submitting a request does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no lawyer is selected or retained by submitting the form. 24/7 refers to intake submission availability only. A participating lawyer's contact is not guaranteed, is not immediate, and no lawyer is standing by.
